Cipher comes preinstalled within an open virtualization appliance (OVA). You will need a virtualization platform that can import, run, and manage an OVA based virtual machine. Once your administrator has configured the virtual machine, it is just a matter of importing the OVA. See the minimum requirements and additional prerequisites below.

Minimum Virtual Machine Requirements
- 2 GB of RAM
- 1 Virtual Processor
- 15 GB of disk space
- Static IP address, hostname, and DNS
Additional Prerequisites
- DNS to resolve external hosts
- Firewall configuration to allow access to the outside internet
- Firewall configuration to allow access to ports 22, 80, 443, 9100, ports required for sqlnet connections, and any other port you require for the virtual machine both incoming and outgoing.
- Any external database connection information you require for sqlnet connections.
Once you have configured your virtual machine and imported the Cipher OVA, please ensure that your firewall and DNS is properly configured per the prerequisites above.
To access the application, direct your web browser to the static IP address or the entry you have created in DNS for Cipher.
