The WMS module of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) can be configured for asynchronous label printing. In this mode label XML files are written to a directory on an EBS server. Cipher mounts this directory using sshfs by using an OS service user on the EBS server hosting the label output directory. SSH keys need to be shared between the Cipher server and the EBS server.
It is important to note that you can generate labels to Cipher both asynchronously and synchronously at the same time depending on how you configure your profile options.
The following setups need to be completed in order to setup asynchronous printing between EBS and Cipher:
- Setup an OS service user account for cipher on an EBS server.
- Create a label output directory on an EBS server.
- Setup SSH private and public keys between the cipher and EBS server.
- Configure WMS profile options for asynchronous operations.
- Configure Cipher Label to connect to the EBS output directory.
