Cipher is typically deployed on 3 servers consisting of a primary production server, a production disaster recovery/fail-over server, and a server that provides label printing services to all of the other ancillary Oracle instances (DEV, CRP, UAT, QA, etc.). The backup application takes a snapshot backup of any server/instance combination on demand. These backups can be migrated between boxes or within an instance on the same Cipher box. In the event of a catastrophic hardware failure, the backup instance can be activated immediately, restoring mission-critical print functions. The Cipher machines can be located in different data centers protecting printing services from location-based network outages and weather related downtime.
Backups are accessed by clicking the gear icon 
in the upper right hand corner of the page and clicking on Backups.
From this screen you can create new backups, download backups, restore backups, and delete existing backups.
